Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist prepares for surgical procedures by scrubbing in, maintaining a sterile field, and supporting the surgical team. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing supplies, instruments, and equipment
• Demonstrating competence as a member of the surgical team
• Supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center
• Participating in quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program or equivalent experience
• State and/or center certification as required
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management
• Understanding of aseptic techniques
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
