Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) for the Ambulatory Surgery Center on a per-diem schedule with a day shift.

The role supports the surgical team, adheres to AORN/AST standards, and requires six months OR experience and BLS certification. Cross-training and float opportunities are available to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program or equivalent.
• Surgical Technician certification is preferred.
• Six months of operating room experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon intraoperatively as scrub tech within scope of practice.
• Follow current professional practice standards set forth by AORN and AST; cross-train and float as needed.
• Support safety and patient care in the Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Role and Responsibilities

The surgicaltechnician functions as a cooperative team member in the Surgical Services department bydemonstratingthe ability to provide constant technicalassistanceto the surgeon within his or her scope of practice.The surgicaltechnician follows the current professional practice standards, rules and regulationsset forth by AORN and AST. The surgical technician must be willing to crosstrain and float to meet the needs of the institution.
