Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a full-time Surgical Technologist.

As a surgical technician in the Baystate Surgical Service team, you will work in a state-of-the-art Level One trauma center. Surgical Services at Baystate Health consist of two operating rooms: BMC inpatient OR and Chestnut Surgery Center. As a valuable member of the patient care team, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, providing expertise and adapting to a variety of procedures.

SCHEDULE:
• 36 hours, days
• Call required

LOCATION:
• BMC Campus, BMC Inpatient OR
• Springfield, MA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Unit Manager, RN Clinical Operations Coordinator, and RN Service Leads, the Surgical Technologist works directly under surgeon/physician guidance to facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist must possess expertise in aseptic technique and demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and surgical processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position is part of a career ladder, and level will be determined by the organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimally required education and/or experience.

Requirements:

1. Tech I
   Associates of Science in Surgical Technology or equivalent program. AST Certification required.
2. Tech II
   Associates of Science in Surgical Technology or equivalent program. Minimum of 2 years experience required.
3. Tech III
   Associates of Science in Surgical Technology or equivalent program. Minimum of 4 years experience required.
