Being a part of the Baystate Surgical Service team provides the experience of working in a state-of-the-art Level One trauma Center. Surgical Services at Baystate Health consist of two operating rooms: BMC inpatient OR and Chestnut Surgery Center. As a valuable member of the patient care team, a highly trained surgical technician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team providing expertise and knowledge in a vast variety of procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Unit Manager, RN Clinical Operations Coordinator, and RN Service Leads, the Surgical Technologist works directly under surgeon/physician guidance to facilitate safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist must possess expertise in aseptic technique and demonstrate the ability to combine knowledge of human anatomy, the surgical process, and procedures including instrumentation and advancing technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position is part of a career ladder and level will be determined by the organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimally required education and/or experience.
