Community Health Systems in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Surgical Technologist (PRN) to join the surgical team at Gadsden Surgery Center. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with procedures, and ensure instruments and supplies are ready while following infection control and regulatory standards.

Requires a Technical School certificate or Associate degree in Surgical Technology, 0–2 years of OR experience, BCLS certification; CST preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences is required.
• 0–2 years of operating room surgical technician experience is required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring equipment, instruments and supplies are organized and sterile.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles instruments, ensures proper sterilization, inspection and assembly.
• Performs sponge, needle and instrument counts with the circulating nurse for patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping and transfer methods for safety and comfort.
• Maintains and updates supply cards to ensure availability of instruments.
• Cleans, reprocesses and sterilizes instruments following protocols.
• Restocks supplies and ensures rooms are ready for subsequent cases.
