Position Summary

Under the direction of Physicians and Staff Nurses, the Surgical Technologist will assist with minimally invasive cosmetic surgical procedures, ensuring sterile setup, maintenance of surgical instruments, proper patient positioning, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed to provide an optimal patient experience.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepares surgical area for patient care and anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
  • Maintain an organized and clean surgical environment, ensuring all tools, supplies, and equipment are accounted for before, during, and after procedures.
  • Document patient care and surgical procedure details accurately as required by facility protocols under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards, including universal precautions and aseptic techniques.
  • Prepares, operates, and maintains routine and complex equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Applies knowledge related to emergency situations and surgical procedures.
  • Provides excellent service to patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
  • Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology and/or
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT).
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) or willing to be enrolled and complete a course upon hire.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Two years (2) of Surgical Technologist experience desired.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or clinical setting, with a preference for experience in cosmetic or minimally invasive procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates understanding of principles of medical and surgical asepsis and ability to recognize breaks in aseptic technique.
  • Ability to follow Universal Precautions.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform CPR and emergency care procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of various surgical equipment and surgical instrumentation.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in relations to anticipating the needs of the patient and surgeon.
  • Effective communication skills and a commitment to high standards of patient care.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

These physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Strong eye-hand coordination.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, or crouching to assist patient positioning or equipment set up.
  • Manual dexterity for precise handing of surgical instruments and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. at a time.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of reference checks.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Expected Work Hours and Location

Hours for this position may vary between operating hours listed below.

Monday- 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday- Thursday 8:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.

Friday- 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Saturday- 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
