Under direct training of a registered nurse, performs scrub activities and assists with a variety of patient care activities for patients of varying ages in the operating room setting.Work ExperienceOne (1) year of recent Operating Room experience.License/Registration/CertificationCurrent certification as a Surgical Technologist.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Education and TrainingCompletion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program of study.SkillsPossesses effective oral communication skills.Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Surgical Technologist.Skill and ability to concentrate and monitor instrument, sharps, and sponge counts.Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
