Role Description

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect nursing services to surgical patients under the supervision of a professional nurse. The role involves performing tasks essential to the functioning of the Surgical Services Unit, adhering to the standards and policies of Operating Room care.

The responsibilities include:

1. Performing technical skills in a scrub role with aseptic technique as per Operating Room standards.
2. Accurately documenting all records in accordance with policy.
3. Being punctual, reliable, and prepared for scheduled work hours.
4. Preparing the operating room for surgical procedures.
5. Ensuring surgical equipment is functioning correctly and safely.
6. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology related to the patient and procedure.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and current CST certification, or completion of a relevant training program in the U.S. military or public health service, or prior employment practicing Surgical Technology in a healthcare facility before September 1, 2009.
• Recent acute care experience is required.
• BCLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist (operating room) experience.
