Job summary

Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield is seeking a per diem Surgical Technologist in Bakersfield, CA. You will assist in the operating room by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Requirements include an accredited Surgical Technology program (AS/Certificate), BLS, and CST or TS-C certification. CPR/BLS certified candidates preferred; acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology is required.
• Relevant acute care experience: Preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required.
• Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT): Required.
• CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Preferred.
• Board/certifications such as NBST or AST: Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room.
• Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure and anticipates surgeon's needs for additional supplies.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
