Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field.

Schedule: Variable shifts Mon - Fri between the hours of 6:30am - 7:00pm

Position Requirements

Education

Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program or previous on the job training in surgical technology required.

Licensure

N/A

Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 90 days of hire.

Experience

1+ year of surgical experience preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintains sterile field during surgical procedure through consistent application of aseptic technique.
• Performs scrub duties in an accurate, concise and timely manner.

Physical requirements:

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
