Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team in a busy WA facility. You will set up equipment, maintain asepsis, and support the team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.

Ideal candidates have ARC-ST surgical technology training or an RN with WA eligibility, and CPR/BLS certification. A sign-on bonus is available, and you’ll join our mission‑driven OR team in the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

• Graduation from ARC-ST accredited Surgical Technology program; or RN degree with WA licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification and WA regulatory eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room and patient by applying aseptic principles; sets up sterile equipment and fields.
• Assists surgeon and team with gowns and gloves and maintains sterile conditions.
• Supports the OR team, adapts quickly, and contributes to patient healing.
• Ensures readiness for a variety of procedures and assists with instrument handling.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient’s healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

• Prepares the operating room and patient for the surgical procedure by applying principles and techniques of asepsis to work assignments; sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes and solutions; assists with scrubbing, preparation of sterile field, gowning/gloving members of the surgical team.
• Helps the surgeon and any assistants put on their surgical gowns and gloves.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from surgical technology program accredited through Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology ARC-ST., upon hire or
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing may be substituted for graduation from an accredited surgical technician program., upon hire and
• Surgical Technologist Registration: WA, upon hire or
• Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• six months operating room work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
