Job summary

The State of New York, Nursing-OR, is seeking a TH Surgical Technologist 2 (SG012) in Syracuse. This full-time position supports the OR team, maintains sterile technique, and assists with procedures.

Responsibilities include describing anatomy/steps for surgeries, transporting patients, and participating in teaching/mentoring. Eligible candidates will have AST certification or equivalent experience and at least one year in an acute care setting; OR/Surgical Scrub experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Eligible for certification by AST through a certificate or degree in Surgical Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year experience as Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
• Preference given to OR/Surgical Scrub experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team with procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and transport patients.
• Support teaching/mentoring and professional development.
• Participate in development of educational programs for the surgical technologist program.
