Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Salem is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the OR team and scrub on complex procedures. You will coordinate with the Circulator and other OR staff to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow while maintaining strict sterile technique.

The role requires graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology, BLS at hire, and certification as a Surgical Technologist. You will rotate through sterile core areas and support reprocessing and instrument prep.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• Surgical Technologist Certificate required at hire.
• Knowledge of sterile core area.
• Knowledge of sterile technique; operating room procedures and equipment; dexterity with hands; effective relationships with people; ability to exercise good judgment and discipline.
• Two to five years of scrubbing experience in all surgical procedures in inpatient or ambulatory OR setting.
• Ability to rotate through sterile core area.

Responsibilities

• Performs in the scrub role during surgical procedures and coordinates other activities with other OR professionals.
• Promotes room turnovers: light housekeeping duties, procurement of equipment, supplies and X-Rays.
• Assists with appropriate measures in emergency situations.
• Assists with reprocessing and instrument prep as needed.
