Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room in Skokie, IL. This full-time role requires 40 hours/week with on-call rotation. Compensation is hourly with a sign-on bonus: $5,000 with no experience, $10,000 with at least 1 year of experience, and a pay range of $25.36–$38.04 per hour.

Graduate of an approved surgical technology program, current CPR certification, and prior surgical experience are needed. Certification in surgical technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient.
• Exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.
• Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures.
• Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.
