Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System's Ambulatory Surgery Center seeks a per diem Surgical Technologist to support the day shift. The role involves preparing ORs, assisting during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring documentation meets PHHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as a surgical technologist by NBSTSA or NCT or equivalent.
• Ability to perform in scrub and circulating roles with RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Meets and greets patients awaiting surgery and ensures OR activities meet patient needs.
• Assists the surgical team during routine and complex procedures in scrub or circulating roles.
• Sets up rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment; maintains aseptic technique.
• Communicates patient data accurately to team and management.
• Maintains positive relations with staff and patients and supports department goals.
