Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to assist in sterile field prep, instrument handling, and intra-operative support under RN direction.

Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program; BLS required; certification within 180 days of graduation from NBSTSA or equivalent; experience in multiple inpatient surgical specialties preferred. Join a leading national provider with strong benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as Surgical Technician in inpatient surgical specialties.
• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital on-the-job training.
• BLS certification required; certification within 180 days of graduation from NBSTSA, NCT or approved program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite.
• Provide instrumentation appropriate for the task in a sterile field.
• Care for operative patient before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and rooms for procedures.
• Maintain clean and safe operating room suite and assist circulating nurse with instrument counts.
• Manage supplies and equipment, including sterilization and availability.
