Job summary

Callista Surgery Center in Walnut Creek, CA seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support our ambulatory surgery center. You will prepare the operating room, maintain the sterile field, and assist surgeons during procedures while ensuring patient safety and efficient turnover.

Ideal candidates will have a Surgical Technology program, CST certification, and prior OR or plastic surgery experience. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Current CST certification preferred; experienced non-certified Technologists may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for scheduled procedures, including instruments and sterile supplies.
• Maintain the sterile field throughout procedures and assist surgeons with instrumentation.
• Assist with gowning, gloving, skin prep, and draping as directed by the surgical team.
• Perform instrument counts with the circulating nurse and manage specimen handling as required.
• Sterilize, clean, and reprocess instruments; ensure proper storage and issue of instrument trays.
• Support infection prevention and patient safety practices within the OR and ambulatory center.
• Assist with OR turnover and ensure rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for next case.
