Job summary

Health First is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room activities, maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist the surgical team under RN direction. The role emphasizes patient safety, efficiency, and per diem scheduling to meet department needs.

Ideal candidates have completed a Surgical Technology program, hold or pursue BLS certification, and bring 3–5 years of related experience. This position involves exposure to the OR environment and requires physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program for Surgical Technologist.
• Certification preferred.
• Three to five years of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider before start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
• Create and maintain sterile field for procedures.
• Handle and care for instruments; report faulty equipment.
• Assist with precepting new staff and record OR data.
• Attend in-services and mandatory meetings; support care team.
• Turnover and organize supplies for patient needs and procedures.
