Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of Completion from an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• Current BLS Certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
• National Board of Surgical Technology or Association of Surgical Technologists Certification
• Min 1 Year of experience in Surgical Technologist

Job Responsibilities

• Verify surgical procedures and patient consent documentation before surgery.
• Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical cases.
• Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, medications, and equipment.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and prepare additional equipment as required.
• Perform initial, closing, and relief counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assist with patient positioning and sterile draping.
• Prepare and secure sterile dressings following surgical procedures.
• Handle surgical specimens according to facility policy.
• Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Clean and prepare instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Follow infection prevention, aseptic technique, and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, RNs, and perioperative personnel.
