Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. The role provides direct patient care before, during and after surgery, collaborating with the surgeon, nurses, and anesthesiologists. The technologist may act as instrument and circulating assistant under supervision.

The position is a full-time, on-site opportunity with a 0.90 FTE (3-12 shifts), offering comprehensive benefits and professional growth within a Level I trauma center environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program.
• Certification required: AST, NCCT, or NBSTA and must maintain active certification.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist assists as a member of the surgical team who works with the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist delivering direct patient care before, during and after surgery. The technologist functions as an instrument assistant and may also function as a circulating assistant under supervision of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program

Experience

Preferred: 0-1 years surgical technologist experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Required: Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA). Required to maintain active certification.
