Job Summary

Night Surgical Technologist – working 9pm to 7am, 4 shifts per week (10hr). Performs technical duties in all operating room specialty service areas, ensuring proper technical practices, maintaining instrumentation, providing assistance to Registered Professional Nurses during intra‑operative phases, and acting as a scrub or circulating person per department policies.


Responsibilities


  • Perform technical skill duties across all operating‑room specialty service areas.

  • Maintain, assemble, handle, and sterilize specialty instrumentation.

  • Assist registered professional nurses with intra‑operative nursing practice.

  • Act as a scrub or circulating person following departmental policies and procedures.

  • Compile accurate and complete documentation of surgical cases on operating‑room record when acting as circulating person.

  • Participate in the orientation of new operating‑room personnel.

  • Participate in operating‑room staff development through in‑service education, conferences, and research projects.

  • Participate in nursing/hospital committees as requested.

  • Accept on‑call rotation.

  • Adhere to service principles with a customer‑service focus, innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.

  • Apply knowledge of chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization protocols.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED (required).

  • Completion of a surgical technologist program (required).

  • Three years of experience as an operating‑room technician desirable.

  • Certification as a surgical technologist (preferred).

  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.


Shift and Compensation

Shift: 9pm to 7am (10hr) – 4 shifts per week. Pay range: $26.25–$42.92 per hour.
