We are hiring for the position of Surgical Technologist at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. The hospital performs procedures including General/vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, GYN, and ophthalmology. Our 8 operating rooms, renovated in May 2020, feature new system integration for efficient surgical flow. As an Orthopedic Center of Excellence, we provide a range of orthopedic procedures, including same-day discharge for total joints. The schedule is from 6:30 AM to 3:00/5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements (3-4 overnight weekdays in a 6-week cycle and one weekend every 6-8 weeks).

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and anticipate needs during surgeries.
2. Support surgical team as a second assisting technologist and contribute to all case preparations.
3. Ensure safety and readiness of the operating room, equipment, and aseptic techniques.
4. Meet ST II requirements, complete annual learning activities, and mentor new staff or students.
5. Participate in performance improvement and support department efficiency.
6. Proactively address needs during cases and contribute to team success.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree; CST preferred or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of 2 years' hospital OR experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire.
• AST membership preferred.
• Interest or experience in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery preferred.
