Job summary

Lima Memorial Health System in Ohio is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support perioperative services across multiple specialties. You will help with case preparation, verify equipment, move and position patients, and assist with draping under the surgeon’s guidance.

After training, you will join the on-call rotation with a 30-minute response time. Shifts are 12 hours and days vary; BLS is required and credentialing paths include surgical technology, LPN, or military training.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a surgical technology program, LPN program, or received formal military training as a surgical technician.
• BLS required; Graduate of surgical technology program preferred; or valid unrestricted LPN license for the State of Ohio plus 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician; or verification of military training.
• Experience: Required to complete formal training.
• Skills: willingness to train in all facets of Surgical Services (CVOR, Ortho, General, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, Neuro, Vascular, Plastics, Hybrid, Robotics, Laser), strong communication, professionalism, flexibility, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in case preparation, including review of schedules and equipment availability.
• Move and position patients per surgeon guidelines; participate in time-outs to confirm procedure and surgeon.
• Drape patient per surgeon's guidelines and assist the surgeon with the case, including tissue retraction for visualization.
• Function across Surgical Services areas (General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Open Heart, Urology, Neuro, Vascular, ENT, Plastics, Robotics, Laser).
• Adapt to on-call rotation; on-call response time within 30 minutes; on-call frequency per departmental guidelines.
