Job summary

Baptist Health, Downtown Jacksonville, is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a full-time day shift role requiring flexibility for weekends, holidays, and call rotation.

You will maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and collaborate with the team to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures. BLS is required; CST is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Participate in the required call rotation.
