Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent.
• Demonstrates knowledge of asepsis and sterile technique in the OR.
• Minimum requirements include CPR/BLS and licensure as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates, plans for and responds to the needs of the surgeon while maintaining a sterile field.
• Demonstrates proper handling of instruments and equipment.
• Identifies potential intraoperative complications and responds appropriately.
• Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Uses performance improvement principles to assess and improve patient care.
• Complies with safety standards and ongoing education requirements.
