Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Endoscopy Technician at Harlem Hospital is a vital member of the healthcare team, supporting physicians and nurses in performing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This role focuses on equipment preparation, patient care, and adherence to infection control protocols to ensure high-quality outcomes and patient safety.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Surgical Technologist - Level II 1. Holds and maintains a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or 2. Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists or successful completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization other than the NBSTSA, such as the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Special Note: Effective January 1, 2015, any employee who functions as a Surgical Technologist will be required to annually complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education in order to remain qualified to perform the functions of a Surgical Technologist at an NYC Health + Hospitals facility.
