Surgical Technologist - Inpatient - IRP The James
James | Operating Room
The Surgical Technologist (ST) is a key team member on a patient care unit, working with a team that includes the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC-RN), Anesthesia Technician (AT), and Unit Clerical Associate (UCA). The team aims to improve patient care outcomes, involve patients in their care plans, enhance service levels, reduce hospitalization length, and lower costs.
The ST works under the supervision of the Surgeon and the Surgical Tech Manager, performing intraoperative patient care and perioperative nursing tasks for pediatric and adult surgical and endoscopy procedures. The primary role is as the scrub person. The position requires cost-effective, quality care, ongoing education, certification, and adherence to the Nursing Services philosophy. The ST works rotating shifts with on-call duties, and all new employees receive orientation to the system and operating rooms.
High school diploma and completion of a recognized operating room technician training program or equivalent experience.
