Job summary

Responsibilities

• Listens to physicians and communicates needs to circulator in advance (anticipates).
• Anticipates needs of surgeon by paying attention and responding appropriately.
• Recognizes and reports emergency situations.
• Communicates with physician, confirms correct specimen and disposition to circulator (under the direction of physician).
• Communicates delays or completion before scheduled time to circulator to ensure efficient room utilization or schedule changes.
• Communicates instrument and equipment problems to appropriate team member and identifies repair needs according to policy.

• Assists in evaluation of new products, equipment, policies, procedures and standard
• Fills out appropriate paperwork to assist with decisions.

Stewardship Awareness

• Plans, organizes and evaluates work activities appropriately.
• Works efficiently and quickly producing high quality work.
• Conserves resources and watches for a better way to complete work.

Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
