Job summary

Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME is hiring a Surgical Technologist II to support surgical procedures and ensure all required elements are in place. You will participate in teaching staff and students and advance the standard of care in the operating room.

This role requires graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology, NBSTSA certification within three months, and a current BLS. New grads and experienced CSTs are eligible for sign-on bonuses of $3,000 and $15,000 respectively;

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Summary

The Surgical Technologist II - MMCP role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
  • License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
