Job Title: Surgical Technologist II
The Surgical Technologist II assists a team of medical professionals in providing surgical care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role involves verifying health data, observing patients, performing scrub duties, and setting up for procedures, including more advanced surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure sterile equipment does not contact unsterile items or surfaces to maintain asepsis.
- Observe and report on patient health changes to adapt the care plan as necessary.
- Complete basic scrub duties and set up tables for surgical procedures to ensure a sterile environment.
- Gather supplies and check equipment to prepare for surgeries.
- Verify patient health status data with the circulating nurse and maintain detailed records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by ARC/STSA or equivalent military training with surgical tech experience.
- Experience: At least 1 year of surgical tech experience.
- Licensure/Certification: BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Note: Technologists hired prior to 12/31/2017 are exempt from the certification requirement, but if the CST credential was held on that date, it must be maintained without lapse.
