Job Description

Primary responsibility involves performing specific tasks as a scrub technologist and/or during surgical procedures to facilitate the efficient and safe progress of the surgical case. Assists with the maintenance of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. Maintains positive customer relations. Demonstrates competency and possesses the technical skills appropriate for assigned cases, utilizing that knowledge to assist others. Performs duties within scope of responsibility and is accountable to the Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for surgical preparation of procedures, including reviewing surgical preference lists, obtaining supplies, and ensuring all items needed are present.
  • Sets up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment, maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring proper functioning.
  • Promotes teamwork, communicates effectively, shares knowledge, and demonstrates flexibility.
  • Assists with patient care at the end of surgery, including site preparation, cleansing, and transfer.
  • Ensures safety and proper handling of instruments, sharps, and specimens, adhering to policies.
  • Participates in professional development activities, including meetings, education, and certifications.
  • Maintains patient dignity and confidentiality, advocates for patient welfare, and promotes a safe environment.
  • Understands factors related to cost-effective patient care and manages workload efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Completed education in surgical technology or equivalent on-the-job training.
