Expected Pay
- Surgical Technologist I: $27.26-38.48/hour
- Surgical Technologist II: $27.26-38.48/hour (with a 3% range adjustment)
This is an hourly position. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
Shift Differentials
- 2nd shift - $2.25/hour
- 3rd shift - $2.75/hour
- Weekend - $2.50/hour
- On-Call Pay - $3.00/hour (time-and-a-half of base rate if called in)
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgical Tech role provides basic care for patients across the life span. Performs duties of scrub person throughout the intra-operative phase of care. Recognizes significant conditions and reactions and notifies the appropriate patient care team.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Surgical Technologist I
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; requires completion of a Surgical Tech program with the ability to sit for certification OR 2 years minimum working in a Surgical Tech role.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Surgical Technologist/Technician role if completion of a Surgical tech program has not been completed.
- Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association CPR (BLS)
- Other Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Requires intra-operative orientation to learn department/unit policies, procedures and work routines; to develop competency in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in the procedure/operating room; to learn quality/safety standards; and to gain an understanding of the various types of surgical procedures within their service line.
Surgical Technologist II
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; requires completion of a Surgical Tech program and Surgical Technologist Certification with a minimum of 3 years working in a Surgical Tech role OR minimum 5 years working in a Surgical Tech role.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Surgical Technologist role if certified. Minimum of 5 years in Surgical Technologist role if not certified.
- Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association CPR (BLS), Surgical Technologist Certification or 5 years or more in a Surgical Technologist role.
Preferred Qualifications
Surgical Technologist I & II:
- Licensure/Certification: Certification in Surgical Technology
