Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, seeks a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams. This role involves preparing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, and maintaining sterile technique across rotating shifts.

Two schedule options provide 24 hours per week, with weekdays or weekends and a mix of day/night shifts. The position offers flexible shifts within a premier rural health network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Must be on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at time of employment.
• National certification preferred, NBSTSA; new grads welcome with or without NBSTSA certification.

• Provide assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures, including preparing and organizing operating room instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate the surgeons needs during a procedure.

Two schedule options: 24 hours/week during the weekdays or 24 hours/week on the weekends. Weekdays schedule: A mix of 8-hour or 12-hours shifts during weekdays, with a mix of day and night shifts. This schedule would cover every third weekend as well. No-call. Weekend schedule: A mix of 8-hour or 12-hour shifts only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a mix of day and night shifts. No-call. Schedule is set for 6 weeks at a time, consisting of 2 weeks of days, and 4 weeks of nights, with the potential for that to be split half and half. 12-hour shifts: Day shifts are from 6:30am-7pm and night shifts are from 6:30pm-7am, which includes your 30-minute break.

Summary Surgical technologist are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients.
