Job summary

Heritage Valley Health System in Monaca, PA seeks a surgical technologist to assist with procedures as a scrub member under RN supervision, preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile operating room.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, accredited Surgical Technology program graduate, BLS, and successful completion of required clearances within 90 days. Preferred: CST certification and at least two years OR experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Command of the standards of surgical technique.
• BLS certification.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.
• Effective December 2020, meet at least one of the following: accreditation-based CST certification, U.S. Army/Navy/Air Force training, or prior employment as a CST.
• Surgical technologists must comply annually with continuing education requirements to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures as a scrub member of the surgical team under RN supervision.
• Prepare and reprocess surgical instruments and maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
