Job summary

Heritage Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in Monaca, PA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist with procedures as a scrub member under RN supervision. You will prepare/reprocess instruments and maintain a clean, safe surgical environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, BLS certification, and successful completion of required clearances within 90 days. Preferred: 2 years OR experience and AST certification.

Job description

Location: Heritage Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center, 79 Wagner Road, Monaca, PA 15061

Work Hours: Monday thru Friday, daylight; 40 hours per pay

Under the supervision of a registered nurse and according to established nursing standards and surgery center policies and procedures, assists with surgical procedures as a scrub member of the surgical team. Prepares/Reprocesses surgical instruments and maintains a clean and safe surgical environment.

Required

High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited post-secondary education program in Surgical Technology. Command of the standards of surgical technique. BLS certification.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Effective December 2020, new hire surgical technologists must meet at least one of the following requirements:

• Successfully complete a program sponsored by an entity holding a nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation and hold and maintain surgical technologist certification from an accredited certification program
• Successfully complete an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the U.S. Army, Navy, or Air Force
• Provide evidence that they maintain a surgical technologist certification from an accredited certification program, were employed to practice as a surgical technologist by the health care facility on or before the effective date of the law, or were employed to practice as a surgical technologist as the individual's primary function in another health care facility at any time during the two years immediately preceding the effective date of this law.

Surgical technologists must comply annually with the continuing education requirements necessary to maintain the certified surgical technologist credential and provide proof of compliance with the health care facility upon request.

Two years current Operating Room experience. AST Certification.
