Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team in Detroit, with a 40-hour day shift schedule and a $7,500 sign-on bonus. The role collaborates within the Surgery department to prepare and transport patients, handle instruments, anticipate needs, and respond to emergencies, under RN and team supervision.

Qualified candidates will have a surgical technology program credential or equivalent military training, plus BLS certification or the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or six months specialized patient care training in the armed forces.
• Specific knowledge of surgical procedures, practices, and techniques in the operating room (OR).
• Current BLS certification or ability to become BLS certified within one month of start date.

Responsibilities

• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during general to moderately complex procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team members to ensure seamless operations.
• Assist with patient preparation and transport, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Support the surgical care team with specific patient care duties.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
