Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician in Roswell, NM to support the OR team with sterile technique and instrument handling during procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program and/or an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring equipment, instruments and supplies are organized.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles instruments, ensures sterilization, inspection and assembly.
• Performs counts with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfer methods.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures availability of supplies.
• Cleans, reprocesses and sterilizes instruments per protocols.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases.
• Maintains regular attendance and follows all policies.
