Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Surgical Services team in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on preparing the sterile field, handling instruments, and assisting during procedures in a 13-week assignment with day shifts.

The successful candidate will complete an accredited surgical technology program, work well in a team, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with surgeons and staff while ensuring patient safety and efficient case flow.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and sterile field for procedures.
• Handle intraoperative instruments and maintain sterility.
• Monitor conditions during procedures and respond as needed.
• May serve as a preceptor for new staff.
• Provide sterile instruments and supplies during surgeries.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Create and maintain a sterile and safe environment.
• Prepare case tables with equipment, supplies, and meds.
• Assist in patient positioning and maintain safety.
• Collaborate on instrument set changes with physicians and supply staff.
• Participate in case costing discussions with surgeons.
• Engage in safety initiatives and risk mitigation.
• Additional duties as needed.
