Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This full-time, day-shift role (36 hours/week) requires flexibility for weekdays, weekends, holidays, and call rotation.

Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile field, anticipating surgeon needs, and supporting safe cardiovascular procedures. High school diploma and BLS required; CVOR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1-2 years CVOR procedure or open heart experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs during each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Prepare, clean, and restock the operating room between procedures.
• Participate in required weekday and weekend call rotations.

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time day shift position, working 36 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and participate in the required call rotation.

As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting cardiovascular surgeons and the operating room team by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures for open heart and cardiovascular cases.

As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, your responsibilities include:

Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular operative procedures

Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly

Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments

Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety

Prepare, clean, and restock the operating room between procedures

Participate in the required weekday and weekend call rotation

Experience Requirements:

1-2 years of experience with Open Heart Procedures required

Education & Credential Requirements:

High school diploma required

Basic Life Support (BLS) required
