Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist for our CVOR team. You will support cardiac surgery by preparing the sterile field, scrubbing in, and assisting the surgeon with instruments and specimens.

The role requires CST certification (or eligibility) and BLS within 30 days, with a focus on patient safety, teamwork, and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credentialed or eligible
• Experience or exposure to cardiovascular surgery preferred
• Basic Cardiovascular Life Support within 30 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the surgical suite with the right instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Assist patients with transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting comfort and privacy
• Scrub in and assist the surgeon by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating team needs
• Monitor equipment and patient status throughout procedures and respond quickly to changes
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure thorough room turnover while contributing to a high-performing team culture
