Job summary

HealthPartners seeks a Surgical Tech (CST) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Shakopee, MN. The role supports patient care across a fast-paced, multi-specialty surgical center with occasional travel to other sites.

The CST will work under RN supervision, applying aseptic technique, instrument handling, and safe sterile practices to ensure patient safety and quality care. Travel to alternate sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be CST or NCCT certified by hire date.
• Surgical tech experience required.
• Knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and orthopedic procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Same Day Surgery Center care under RN supervision.
• Support pre-op and post-op patient care and sterile processing.
• Provide patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Occasional travel to alternate Park Nicollet sites per rotation.

Position Summary

Be part of our Same Day Surgery Center Team in Shakopee with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Centers as needed.

We are looking for team members to support our growing services, with opportunities to provide patient care in our Surgery Centers. We have a fast-paced multi-specialty Surgical Center. Our team is looking for candidates with a positive outlook and ability to work well on a team.

The Surgical Tech (CST) position practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity, and caring.

Work Schedule

• 0.8 FTE/Day Shift
• Variable Start Times
• Variable Shift Lengths
• Rotating Late Shifts
• Occasional travel to alternate sites per rotation

Required Qualifications

• Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs:
  • CST (https://nbstsa.org/examinations-cst.html) at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 months of hire.

• NCCT (https://www.ncctinc.com/General/VerifyCertification.aspx) at time of hire or obtain the certification within 36 months of hire.
• Surgical tech experience required (would consider highly motivated new grad)
• Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• SPD experience preferred - Cross training to Sterile Processing
• Currently validated CPR skills or BLS certification is preferred.
