Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist-ACC 21-Day Shift (37.5 Hours). In this role, the successful candidate under the direction of a licensed professional nurse can scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room, and assist the physician in procedural areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collects patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
  • Participates in quality improvement programs and activities that promote patient, family, physician, and staff satisfaction.
  • Participates in clinical activities to foster evidence-based practice.
  • Maintains awareness of current research applicable to patient care.
  • Participates in unit-based quality and performance improvement programs.
  • Utilizes resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Serves as a support and resource for other staff and students.
  • Engages in self-assessment and participates in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Participates in designated activities related to professional nursing standards and regulations.
  • Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and promotes collegial relationships.
  • Participates in coordination of unit activities to provide care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
  • Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution, department, and service line.
  • Cultural Competencies - Recognizes that all patients may not share the values and practices of the US health system.
  • Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
  • Implements interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Provides RN Circulator/Surgical Team updating of information that reflects the ability to prioritize and organize care.
  • Participates in the plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Supports the Surgical Team in the achievement of expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
  • Communicates assessment data to nursing/surgical team.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent required. BLS Required (American Heart Association) 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA. Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technologist program.

Required Licenses: Cert Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large complex Operating Room, preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $82,796.60 - $108,883.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
