The Surgical Technologist provides safe, efficient care under RN supervision and in collaboration with the surgeon. Responsibilities include preparing instrumentation, maintaining sterile technique, and adapting to unpredictable perioperative situations, utilizing knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program, certification from the NBSTSA within one year of hire (maintained thereafter), and BLS competency.

Surgical Technologists hired before specific dates at certain locations are exempt from NBSTSA certification requirements. Internal transfers to Rochester or Southeast Minnesota must have NBSTSA certification.

License or Certification: Current BLS and NBSTSA certification within one year of hire.
