Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring a Surgical Technologist in Rochester, MN. The role provides safe and efficient patient care under RN supervision and in collaboration with the surgeon. The technologist primarily operates in the scrub role, selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation and supplies.

Applicants should be proficient in sterile/aseptic technique, adaptable to perioperative demands, and knowledgeable about anatomy and surgical instrumentation as part of the surgical team.

Qualifications

• The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the surgeon.
• The Surgical Technologist functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• The Surgical Technologist possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and is able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
• The Surgical Technologist utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as member of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Select, prepare, and maintain instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for operative cases.
• Apply sterile and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support efficient and safe patient care.
