Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge as the first scrub, including anatomy and instrumentation anticipation.
• Expedite surgeries by anticipating surgeon needs.
• Inform circulating nurse of upcoming patient care needs.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and organized sterile fields.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and use emergency equipment appropriately.
• Serve as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas.
• Perform as a preceptor for new and experienced staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Surgical Technologist 2 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year surgical tech experience or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Virginia Registered Surgical Technologist license.
