Job summary

Kent Hospital, part of Care New England Health System, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in operative procedures by handling instrumentation and maintaining aseptic technique in line with AORN standards. The successful candidate will support the surgical team, anticipate needs, and ensure supplies and equipment are readily available.

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with aseptic techniques and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain skills and competencies required of the Surgical Technologist position.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of service lines including use of specialized equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations under the direction of an RN.
• Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintains and gathers supplies to perform job.

• Primary Preceptor for the scrub role.
• Complies with customer service requirements.
• Actively participates in QI programs.
• Respond to emergency situations under the direction of a RN.
• Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintains and gathers supplies to perform job
• Maintains BLS

Requirements

Graduation of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. BLS Certification required.
