Job summary

IR Centers is seeking a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) to assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures in an outpatient endovascular lab. You will maintain a sterile environment, pass instruments, and support patient transfers during interventional procedures.

Ideal candidates have a surgical technologist background, sterile technique proficiency, and HIPAA knowledge. BLS is required; ARRT/CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a surgical technologist or scrub tech.
• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field and scrubbing in for procedures.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
• ARRT/CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
• Ensures effective communication with physicians
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday

As a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
• ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
