Job summary

Stoughton Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room team on a part-time basis. The role involves assisting nurses and physicians in perioperative patient care during surgery and immediate post-operative care.

Essential duties include OR preparation, maintaining sterile environment, passing instruments, inspecting sterile supplies, and understanding sterilization processes. Requires accredited program graduation and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Basic computer skills including email, access to internal websites, and use of electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room for patients.
• Keep the operating room clean and sterile.
• Pass instruments and other sterile supplies.
• Perform routine inspection of sterile supplies.
• Understand the sterilization process.

Job description

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room team on a Part-Time basis. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for aiding the professional nurse or physician in providing patient care to those patients requiring surgical procedures during the operative and immediate post-operative surgery.

Essential Functions:

• Prepares the Operating Room for patients
• Keeping the operating room clean and sterile
• Passing instruments and other sterile supplies
• Routine inspection of sterile supplies
• Understand the sterilization process

Position Requirements:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited program for Surgical Technologists
• Preferred: Post-secondary coursework in Central Service skills
• Preferred Professional Experience: One-year experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred
• Required Certification: Current BLS certification
• Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
• Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.

Work Shift:

• Full-Time, .6 FTE
• 24 hours per week
• Scheduled Days: Variable days Monday - Friday
• Scheduled Shift: Between 6:30 am – 3:00 pm
• Weekend variable on call rotation
• Holiday variable on call rotation
