Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will prepare the OR, handle supplies, perform sterile scrub duties, and support specimen collection as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.

Role Purpose
