Job summary

Christian Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to scrub cases and support the Surgical Services team. You will assist with sterile prep, instrument handling, and room turnover while collaborating closely with nurses and surgeons. A sign-on bonus is offered as part of the package.

The role requires a high school diploma and certification in surgical technology; accredited programs are preferred. Normal shift is Monday–Friday with on-call requirements.

Additional Information About The Role

• Schedule: Monday to Friday


• Hours: 7:00 - 3:30pm


• Call: Approximately 1 night per week, and every 5th-8th weekend, one to two holidays per year.


• Duties: scrub cases; help with daily/weekly/monthly duties along with the team as teamwork is key.

The Surgical Services Department performs emergency, trauma, elective, in-patient, out-patient, and ambulatory/same day surgery. ASD also does pre-and post-procedure assessment and recovery of special procedures patients, and pre-procedure assessment of cardiac cath lab patients. Specialties include general surgery, orthopedics, GU, GYN, thoracic, ophthalmic, vascular, plastic, neuro, dental, ENT, endoscopic, cardiovascular, and podiatry.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.


• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.


• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
